'A civil litigation paralegal is a paralegal who works in the area of civil litigation. Civil litigation involves lawsuits that do not involve criminal law. Civil litigation occurs in civil courts, as opposed to criminal courts, and can involve issues as diverse as contract disputes, medical malpractice, and the extent of the First Amendment. Civil litigation paralegals assist with pleadings, court filings, and organizing documents in preparation for trials. Many civil litigation paralegals work in law firms, but they must always work under the direction of a practicing attorney.

Civil Litigation Paralegal
The candidate must be a law graduate with 6 months of experience in a commercial environment. Must have extensive dealings in matters relating to insolvency work, construction work, debt collection, contested probate matters, residential and commercial property disputes, general litigation and complex high court matters.
Civil Litigation Paralegal
The candidate should have experience as a paralegal. Will assist the fee earners in the civil litigation department and holds the prospect of establishing your own case load. Excellent communication skills are required and good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Civil Litigation Paralegal
The candidate will assist with busy practice. Must have basic knowledge of: medical terminology; HIPPA and medical releases; Word; WordPerfect; Excel; and, document summary. Should have High school or equivalent. Must have 1+ years of experience.
Civil Litigation Paralegal
The candidate will manage the duties that include: drafting pleadings; e-filing pleadings with the court; updating files within the internal database; calendar management; organizing legal files; corresponding with clerks of the court, process servers, and clients; ensuring legal and company procedures are followed; collaborating with attorneys, managers, supervisors and other team members as necessary. Associate degree or equivalent experience is required. Paralegal certification by an ABA approved program is a plus. Should have 2-3 years civil litigation of experience. Legal collection experience is a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook is advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are must.
Civil Litigation Paralegal
The candidate will be responsible for: Drafting pleadings and discovery requests and responses; Obtaining service of process and assisting with the issuance of summons and writs; Editing and formatting briefs and memorandums; Managing docket of deadlines and case priorities; Managing document storage and production and handling electronic discovery processes; Researching into party identity and location and asset searches; Professional communications with clients and Court personnel and organizing files electronically and creating hard-bound trial notebooks. Bachelor degree or equivalent and 6+ years of experience as a civil litigation paralegal (business, commercial, or employment litigation experience preferred). C. Certified Paralegal Certificate preferred. Knowledge and mastery of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel and Adobe Acrobat a must. Experience with Federal Court filings and systems such as PACER and ECF a must. Working knowledge of the North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure a must. Experience with electronic discovery and case management software (such as Sanction, CaseMap, Needles, and Concordance) a plus. Spanish fluency is a plus.
Civil Litigation Paralegal
The candidate will be working with the attorneys and other support staff on personal injury, wrongful death, civil rights and commercial matters. Will be calendaring and managing client deadlines; keeping case files organized; updating client information, notes, and expenses in Clio, the client management software. Preparing legal documents such as complaints, notices of claim, discovery documents, mediation and arbitration notebooks. Daily client contact and communicating with the courts and opposing counsel as needed. Conducting research, proofreading, answering telephones and screening potential client calls. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Civil Litigation Paralegal
The candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys with family law and personal injury cases by drafting and preparing motions and other legal documents, organizing case files, filing documents with the court, scheduling mediation and/or hearings, and actively communicating with clients. Provides administrative assistance by answering incoming phone calls, responding to email and web inquiries, and following-up with prospective family law and personal injury clients. Keeps accurate records of all communication (i.e. phone calls, emails, secure messages), expenses, case documents (such as client intake sheets, pleadings, etc.), and time entries in Clio. Assists attorneys with preparing and filing legal documents for family, personal injury, and healthcare lien matters as required. Attends weekly meetings and updates attorneys and office manager on status of active family law matters. Performs other duties as assigned by partner attorneys, senior paralegal, and/or office manager to ensure success of the firm. Some college is required. Bilingual Spanish skills preferred.
