Pros:
Accepted at 20 yrs old, extremely bullied, professor Butler-Richie slept with students and was caught by his child in bed with a classmate. Despite being bullied by his lovers, wife and faculty, I did not touch the red haired leprechaun. Ew. Terrible experience with grown ass people that established over 5K in therapy for me. Do not attend. And let me just tell you, I am an extremely intelligent individual who furthered her career in Pathology. So, shame on ASL and the 40K loan that they grubishily took from a child. Kudos for adhering to Ethics. Shut it down. P'sOS.

Discover the Excitement of Appalachian School of Law: A Pathway to Success for Attorneys, Law Students, and School Staff Nestled in the picturesque mountains of Virginia, Appalachian School of Law (ASL) stands as a beacon of legal education, offering a unique and exciting experience for attorneys, law students, and school staff alike. With its commitment to practical legal experience, community service, and producing leaders, ASL has carved a niche for itself in the legal education landscape. Accredited by the American Bar Association, this stand-alone law school has been shaping legal minds since its founding in 1994. Academic Excellence and Practical Legal Experience At ASL, the pursuit of academic excellence is intertwined with the development of practical legal skills. Unlike many other law schools, ASL places a strong emphasis on providing students with hands-on experience that prepares them for the real world of law. From the very beginning, students are encouraged to engage in practical legal work, serving their community while completing their studies. This unique approach ensures that ASL graduates are not only well-versed in legal theory but also equipped with the practical skills necessary to excel in their legal careers. ASL's commitment to practical legal experience sets it apart from other institutions. While some law schools are just beginning to embrace this approach, ASL has been at the forefront for years. This focus on experiential learning allows students to gain valuable insights into the legal profession, develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and build a strong foundation for their future careers. A Stand-Alone Law School with Abundant Resources One of the key advantages of being part of ASL is its status as a stand-alone law school. Unlike law schools affiliated with large universities, ASL does not have to compete for resources. This means that students, faculty, and staff benefit from a dedicated and focused environment that fosters collaboration and individual growth. The close-knit community at ASL creates a supportive and nurturing atmosphere, where everyone is invested in each other's success. Furthermore, ASL's commitment to providing ample resources for its students is unparalleled. The school boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a modern law library, spacious classrooms, and cutting-edge technology. These resources, combined with a dedicated faculty who are experts in their respective fields, ensure that students receive a comprehensive and enriching education. Leadership and Professional Responsibility ASL's mission is to produce lawyers with a strong sense of professional responsibility who will become leaders in their communities. This core value is ingrained in every aspect of the school's curriculum and culture. ASL recognizes that being a lawyer is not just about legal expertise but also about making a positive impact on society. Through its community service programs, ASL students have the opportunity to engage with the local community and address real-world legal issues. This hands-on experience not only allows students to apply their legal knowledge but also instills in them a deep sense of responsibility and empathy. By actively participating in community service, ASL students develop a strong moral compass and a commitment to using their legal skills for the betterment of society. A Pathway to Success For attorneys, law students, and school staff, being part of ASL opens up a world of exciting opportunities. The combination of academic excellence, practical legal experience, abundant resources, and a focus on leadership and professional responsibility sets ASL apart as a premier institution for legal education. Attorneys who choose to join ASL as faculty or staff can expect a dynamic and fulfilling career. They will have the opportunity to shape the next generation of legal professionals, imparting their knowledge and expertise to eager students. The supportive and collaborative environment at ASL ensures that attorneys can thrive both personally and professionally. Law students who choose ASL as their educational home can look forward to a transformative experience. They will receive a well-rounded education that combines rigorous academic training with practical legal experience. The close-knit community at ASL fosters meaningful connections and lifelong friendships, creating a supportive network that extends far beyond graduation. With ASL's strong reputation and accreditation, students are eligible to take the bar exam in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, opening doors to a wide range of legal career opportunities. In conclusion, Appalachian School of Law offers an exciting and enriching experience for attorneys, law students, and school staff. With its commitment to practical legal experience, abundant resources, and focus on leadership and professional responsibility, ASL provides a pathway to success in the legal profession.
