Current Employee Current Employee Mr. San Francisco

Advice to law firm management:
Your employees are the foundation and strong point of your company; treat them right.

Pros:
If You Shoot for the Stars, You Won't Get Out of The Stratosphere Here.

Cons:
The higher ups at this firm don't seem care a whole lot for us in the support team. While the starting salary and pay may be high, don't expect to get a raise or bonus anytime soon. I learned that the hard way. Promotion is very unlikely as upper management positions rarely become available.

White & Case has a long history of pro bono services and is known as one of the largest providers of pro bono legal services in the world. In 2010, the firm named pro bono as one of the 14 global practices. Under the leadership of Brussels partner and EU law litigator Ian Forrester, QC, the Global Pro Bono Practice focuses on three areas-providing access to justice, promoting the rule of law and serving the world's leading non-governmental organizations. There are more than 100 partners worldwide who serve as Pro Bono Leaders. Pro bono is also the centerpiece of the firm's social responsibility initiative, which we introduced in 2009. The social responsibility programs also encompass our legal education work and one of the distinctive features of White & Case is its global footprint. The firm also offers cross-border projects so that all lawyers get equal opportunity to work on international issues.

The firm believes that pro bono work is an excellent way to accelerate a young lawyer's training and development. All first year and summer associates are assigned at least one pro bono matter and all are encouraged to propose pro bono matters to the firm.
