Lisa Key, the Assistant Dean of Admissions, Career Development, and Student Services, oversees the office. She initially joined MU School of Law in 1993 as faculty member and has led courses in tax, disability, and family law. Prior to joining the law school, she practiced tax and corporate law with King & Spalding in Atlanta and also spent time with a boutique firm. She began to focus on family law in 2003 after opening a private practice and maintained her focus into 2011 while working for the law firm of Krigel & Krigel. Key, who has also taught tax courses at the University of Kansas School of Law, holds a JD from Northwestern University School of Law and a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The Director of Diversity Initiatives and Outreach, Erika Fadel, joined the University of Missouri School of Law as an adjunct associate professor in 2005. She took on her current position in August of 2011 but continues to teach courses at the School of Law including client interviewing and counseling, legal research and writing, and advocacy and research. She additionally serves as an associate adjunct professor at the University of Missouri's Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business, where she teaches both business law and business ethics. Before joining the University of Missouri, she was a corporate associate at Clark, Thomas and Winters, PC in Austin. She has also worked in the Texas offices of Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr PC and K&L Gates LLP. She holds her JD from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and a master of divinity degree from Boston University School of Theology.
Jennifer McGarr, the Director of Professional Development and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Missouri School of Law, has taught courses in legal research and writing, advocacy and research, and law practice management. Prior to taking on employment with the law school, McGarr spent a year as a litigation associate in Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe's New York office. From 2002 to 2006, she served as a staff attorney at the Louisiana House of Representatives. McGarr earned her JD from the Georgetown University Law Center, where she was involved with the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. She holds a Master's Degree in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish from the University of California at Davis.
Grant Shostak, has served as the Director of Career Development since the summer of 2011. He completed his JD and undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri- Columbia.
Although Linda Lorenz, the Director of Public Service and Public Interest, has only been with MU School of Law since the fall of 2011, she possesses more than 10 years of experience in the area of career development. She spent six years as the Director of Career Development at Central Methodist University and five years as an Internship Coordinator at Westminster College. She additionally served as the Resource Coordinator at American School of Asuncion from 1995 to 1999. Lorenz holds a BS in Education from Delta state University and a BA in Art from Linfield College.
