In his new role, Berenmbaum will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters related to Ilitch Holdings. He will also provide direction to the human resources function. Berenbaum will report directly to the company's President and CEO Christopher Ilitch.
Most recently, Berenbaum served as the Vice President of Purchasing and Quality Assurance at Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc., the largest carry-out pizza chain in the world. From August 2010 to April of 2011, he held the position of chief executive officer at Water Intelligence PLC, the parent company of American Leak Detection Inc., which operates franchises across the US and in Canada, Australia, Brazil, Europe, and the Middle East. Prior to that, he spent five years with American Leak Detection, Inc. as the president and chief executive officer
Immediately following his graduation from Wayne State University Law School, Berenbaum became a member of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP 's antitrust, trade regulation, and franchising department. He remained with the firm for almost seven years before joining Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. in 1998 as the vice president and general counsel.
Today, Berenbaum is a member of the state bars of Michigan and California. He has authored works and presented information on a various legal, business, and franchising issues. He holds a BA in Political Science from Wayne State University and a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.
