For persons born on or after Jan. 1,1960 in the state, electronic certified copies of birth records may be obtained from most city and town clerks, regardless of where the birth took place within the state.

Certified copy - $20.00 (includes two-year search, $2.00 per additional year searched); additional copies ordered at the same time - $ 15.00 each. Priority handling - $7.00 surcharge (indicate "Rush" on letter and envelope). Make checks payable to Rhode Island General Treasurer.
